Dr. Tatjana Mühlbach, a partner at BUNTSCHECK since 2016, draws on more than a decade’s experience in advising German and international clients in matters of German and EU competition law. She is equally well-versed in merger control, cartel damages claims, abuse-of-dominance and cartel procedures, compliance, and the competition-law considerations in day-to-day commercial dealings.
Tatjana has developed in-depth expertise over many years in supporting clients from start to finish in merger-control transactions, including strategically complex “Phase Two” procedures. In the area of cartel damages claims, she has represented clients from Germany and other countries, both in court and out of court. Companies from the pharmaceuticals and healthcare sectors are regular beneficiaries of Tatjana’s professional insights into healthcare competition law. She has also been advising industry initiatives, NGOs and business associations on the compatibility of sustainability cooperations with German and European antitrust law for many years.
Her expertise in competition law has earned her recommendations from guides such as Wirtschaftswoche and Best Lawyers.
Tatjana has professional proficiency in the languages of German and English.
Tatjana studied Law at the University of Hamburg. She undertook academic research at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law with Professor E.J. Mestmäcker, and at the University of Bordeaux (France). Doctor of Laws 2006. From 2007 to 2015, she was employed at SJ Berwin LLP and Milbank LLP.
Dr. Tatjana Mühlbach is a member of the German Competition Law Association (Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht), the Competition Law Forum Munich (Kartellrechtsforum München) and the Women in Law Society of Germany (Deutschen Juristinnenbund).
